9 Tips to make your E-commerce Store Even Better

1. Navigation of your store

The navigation on the website needs to be flattened. Flat navigation shortens the number of clicks a customer will need to perform to reach their desired destination.

As a result, a visitor to your online shop will find the needed page easily. It also improves your SEO since it makes your site easier for search engine bots to crawl.

The image displays an easy-to-navigate menu and featured sections for new products and popular pages (such as Shoes by Zara, Jackets, and a free shipping promotion). Notice how visitors can open the most popular sections with a single click.

2. Make products discoverable with categories and subcategories.

When customers visit your store, they’ll likely want to sort items during their search, and categories provide a quick way to do that. In addition, you can use the subcategories to further narrow results.

3. Add live search

To make it easy for customers to find exactly what they want, we recommend using Live Search.

With it, prospects will be able to view the most popular and relevant search results of your eCommerce site in real-time, speeding up the online shopping process.

Typing just a few letters into the search box will auto-display matching store results. The more you type, the more narrow the results become.

4. Create your unique product descriptions and titles

You need to create unique content for your website without copy-pasting.

Duplicate content is another common mistake users make while building their E-Commerce stores.

You’ll find your pages will stand a much better chance of snagging a top search ranking if you write your unique descriptions.

5. Improve the content internal linking

You can display related products from the same category. Also, you can add WooCommerce widgets to your sidebar to display top-rated items that your customers may also be interested in.

Amazon displays items related to that product, and the customers may buy any of those items.

6. Ensure the reviews are real

Social proof is a huge factor in whether or not a customer purchases a specific item, and one of the most powerful forms of social proof is reviews.

Make sure users trust the reviews published on your store by displaying a verified tag or accepting reviews from just verified users.

7. What to do About out-of-Stock Pages?

Every eCommerce site will run into the problem of products that run out of stock. If it’s only for a few days, it’s likely not a big problem, but what if you know it will be months?

Logically, you want to delete the out-of-stock product pages. But which will also reduce the visibility of your store.

Instead, we recommend you redirect the page of the out-of-stock product to a different but similar one. As a result, you will both offer your goods and keep the opportunity to re-activate the old page if needed.

You can use any SEO plugin to achieve this.

For example, Yoast SEO.

8. Speed up your ecommerce store

It makes your SEO better. Search engines like Google consider page load times. It’s more likely for a page that loads in a second or two to rank higher than a page that takes thirty.

Even a 5-seconds delay will make your customers want to leave.

Suggestions

You need to Optimise images. Many store owners make the mistake of uploading huge, high-quality photos. While these look great, they take ages to load, especially mobile users.

Use a CDN to help your content load faster.

9. Add helpful features with the help of plugins.

We know it may not be possible to find a perfect theme fit for your e-commerce store.

Consider adding plugins to your store to add more functionality.

You can add an optimized side cart to your e-commerce site with powerful conversion-boosting features.

Or

You might want to add more options to your checkout page.

No matter your needs, chances are there’s a plugin for the features you want.
